From the time it arrives at the factory, the leather is handled with an eye toward creating a finished product of impeccable quality. Staging the hides within 24 hours of arrival allows them to breath and smoothes out any wrinkles that may have occurred during shipping.
Most importantly, each hide is hand inspected by a trained specialist, who detects and marks any visible flaws. When the hide is cut, these flawed areas are eliminated in order to maintain Katzkin quality standards.
Katzkin quality begins before the first leather hide is delivered to the factory. Patterns are created using the latest CAD technology, and steel dies are manufactured to assure consistent cutting. The result is a precise fit in the finished product.
JIT (Just In Time) manufacturing requires maximum efficiency and is the purpose of Katzkin'sTM custom built, 100 ton full hide press. Using steel dies, leather is cut with precision and speed that cannot be achieved by hand, with minimum waste.
Katzkin's computerized embroidery equipment. Logos or artwork are digitized and stored, then re-created in an infinite variety of thread. Embossing of names and logos are also available.
Despite the abundance of high technology evident in Katzkin's manufacturing process, the human touch remains a necessary component to craftsmanship.
Production cells are comprised of skilled assemblers who work as a team. Each production cell assembles the complete interior for a specific automobile form start to finish, and each member is responsible to all of the others for quality and efficiency.
Such specialization allows each cell to produce superior results on a consistent basis, and to instantly detect and correct ant variations which would compromise product quality.

From the first inspection of the hide through the final inspection of the completed product, each interior is examined no less than six times by Katzkin's inspectors.
